Phillip Huber is like a classical concert violinist or pianist who works to master every note in the score and perform it  with feeling and style, as well as perfection.

Phillip's format is a familiar one: a musical variety show, featuring a sequence of marionettes performing to recorded music. Several of the numbers are inspired by celebrity performers, and others are Phillip's own characters. Still, a familiar format.

What sets his show apart is. . . everything. His puppets are beautifully sculpted and costumed, the lighting is dramatic, Phillip's stage presence is elegant - but it's what he makes those marionettes do that has an audience staring open-mouthed in fascination and then cheering in appreciation. Every movement is carefully timed and choreographed, though it never feels mechanical. The puppeteer is there - we're aware of him in the shadows, perhaps a dim colored light on his face - but below, those marionettes are alive all by themselves with feelings, passions, attitudes and personality. That's when puppetry feels like magic.

The total show is a great experience that you could enjoy seeing over and over; but it's what Phillip Huber knows about creating marionettes and bringing them to life that has made him a much sought-after artist, performer, and teacher.
